NEXT-OBP for Heinrich Hertz Mission

We are thrilled to announce that IQ spacecom is playing a vital role in the launch of the dedicated German communications satellite, featuring our cutting-edge NEXT-OBP onboard processor.

Prepare for an exciting exploration of the technological complexities as we prepare to embark on this extraordinary adventure that will take us 36,000 km from Earth.

This groundbreaking mission, led by the German Space Agency at Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. with funding from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, and with the valuable participation of the Federal Ministry of Defense, marks a significant milestone in advancing German and European satellite capabilities. With an on-board processor unit, a satellite is able to process data streams, enabling a range of experiments. For instance, it will serve as a relay for LEO satellite constellations and provide 5G/6G mobile connection. Together, we're reducing costs for the next generation of satellites.

Stay tuned for exciting updates as we venture into uncharted territory!

Launch Date: July 6, 2023
